Making Masks: part 1

Masks. We all wear them. We put on various masks for different situations. It does not mean we are lying or hiding. We are just adapting and reacting. We wear masks so we can face life. Wear a mask for too long, however, and it becomes difficult to take off. Without awareness of self, we risk becoming a mask that conceals the truth. Know yourself. Know your masks.

Hello, and welcome to the first installment of my new blog series “Making Masks.” I am going to use this outlet to post updates on the progress of my current project, Masks: a trilogy of poetry chapbooks, each with its own soundtrack, that will introduce characters and scenes from my fictional, post-apocalyptic world while also making social commentary on current events.

You can read the About Me page and/or visit my official site to learn more about my background as a music artist and writer. Masks is the project that will finally bring all of my music personas and creative writing projects together.

I want to say this will be a weekly or biweekly thing, but I am a full-time college student with a part-time day job on top of working on this project, keeping my record label afloat, and trying to build a platform as a horror writer. So basically, I will update this blog as often as I can, whatever that means. Future posts may include pics and videos as well. *UPDATE: I am going to try to do it biweekly, at least for the summer. And the next post does indeed include the first promo video!
